MEETING CALLED TO ORDER:
Steve J called the meeting to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and Rob C opened with a devotional from James 5:16.  Sin, we all have hidden sin.  We should confess our sins to one another and hold each other accountable and be slow to anger.  Rob C finished with prayer.

OLD BUSINESS:
Steve J brought up that not having the chapter treasurer present is a concern and we may need to look at someone else taking that position.

NEW BUSINESS:
The Vietnam Veteran’s traveling wall will be coming to Hot Springs.  We have some help coming for the Mid-America Bike Rally from the Mt. Home RRJ Chapter.  We discussed Carl Crackel and Cliff Clark coming to speak at the morning services during the rally.  We discussed sending money to help Cliff with gas expenses, Steve J suggested we send $150 and David M made the motion to do so and Rob C 2nd and the motion carried.  March 17th is the Cedar Creek Biker Appreciation day, meet at DeSoto Park at 11:00 to ride.  The Defenders will be hosting a poker run also on the 17th at Greeson’s.  March 24th Steve J and David M are riding to Conway to meet with the AR State Coordinator for RRJ and anyone who would like to join for the ride let them know.  March 31st is the Spa City Spring Rally at Lander’s Harley; we will have a booth and be giving ice cream for donations, water, and face painting.  April 28th we will do the food drive to the Texarkana Orphanage, we need #10 can food items.  We will have a rider safety course level 1 soon and following with level 2 which is CPR certification.  David talked about the R.U.T.H.S. ministry and that our chapter needs someone to head that up.  Pete E invited everyone to Hippie Hollow on March 31st for a wedding and talked about the ministry to homeless teens.  Steve J talked about the summer cereal drive with Tom Brandon and Today’s THV coming to Hot Springs in May and would like us to participate as a chapter.

Rob – Manager at Subway whose husband is in a wheelchair and poor health, kids with issues over custody.  Rob asks for prayer that the members of the chapter share in our tasks.
David – Pray for our chapter’s direction this year.

Steve – That David didn’t get hurt when almost side swiped by car.
Tim – Cohl Batey, a friend’s grandson who had pace maker is doing better, the fluid around his heart has improved.

ROAD CAPTAIN’S REPORT:

OLD BUSINESS:
The date has been set to visit Hot Springs Baptist Church as a chapter.  We will be attending on March 4th at 4:00 p.m. and will meet in room 132.
Steve is getting the small banner for $62 and labels for the donation drive cans.  We can do the donation drive as long as we’re outside the city limits.
Steve is going to check the fairgrounds parking lots in preparation for the Mid-America Bike Rally so that we can schedule volunteers for doing the parking during the event.

NEW BUSINESS:
A demolition derby is coming to the fairgrounds in March, Steve is checking into whether we could do the donation drive there.
The Hot Springs Spring Rally will be March 31st at Lander’s Harley.  The event will benefit B.A.R.B.S. Place of Hot Springs.  Steve will contact the event leader and check whether we could sell ice cream at our booth at the event.  The chapter agreed to pay $20 for a booth area and set up for the day.  Discussion also ensued regarding having a bake sale for the event.
Retha will call the Texarkana Orphanage to set up a date for our annual food drive that we co-sponsor with Midway Missionary Baptist Church, the dates we are planning are either April 21st or 28th.
Steve talked about the packets we have for carrying ministry materials on our bikes and Stacy passed out packets to the meeting attendees.
Rob asked about a calendar with our chapter events which our website has and can be located at http://rrj77.org and Kathy stated she would send in our events and make sure the calendar is kept up-to-date.
Steve talked about the RRJ International Rally which is held near Fredericktown, MO during the week of Labor Day on Wednesday through Sunday.  You will find registration forms in the Riders Call magazines.

Al B – Twila Francis – step dad, the Bike Rally, Members, brother who had heart surgery, friend Larry who is still dealing with the loss of his son, and that we can stand strong for Jesus this year.

Tim – Cole Bailey who is 21 y/o and had to get a pace maker and had health issues.

Retha – Brother Bill with health issues related to heart problems, she and Steve for decisions they’ve had to make.

Closing prayer was lead by Al B with prayer for Tim’s son who had to be taken to the hospital and the meeting was adjourned.

ROAD CAPTAIN’S REPORT:
The Polar Bear Ride was held December 31st again this year beginning on Tower Mountain with a ride over Jack Mountain to Bismarck for lunch.

OLD BUSINESS:
Our Christmas meeting “party” was held last month in lieu of a regular meeting with a potluck at Steve and Retha’s.  David M reported that the Bibles were ordered and are in and showed the packet from Chapter 24 that they carry on their bikes.  Plans are to put together packets with Bibles and tracks for each member to carry with them.

NEW BUSINESS:
Steve J talked about Mid-America Bike Week coming May 30-June 3.  Carl Crackel is giving the 8:00 a.m. message on May 31 and Cliff Clark will be giving the message on June 2.  Our other RRJ chapters in Arkansas have spoken an interest in coming to help with the rally and we need volunteers.  Our chapter has signed on to take care of the gates and parking.
Jack E talked about the Veteran’s bike run that will be coming through during the Mid-America bike rally; they are a large group and have been invited as has the American Legion group.
Steve J brought the suggestion of the chapter purchasing another banner with only the RRJ logo so that we have a second banner to put up at the rally.  Motion was made and seconded to purchase a new banner.
Pins and rockers will be ordered per Kathy M for the Polar Bear ride.  Al B said the Red Cross would come do a free CPR class for us.  Doug G talked about Mid-America bike rally and that the governor will be the chairperson.  Tim S talked about the Biker Sunday event being scheduled for 1st Baptist Church of Hot Springs; it will be a Sunday afternoon and will be set soon.

Steve J called the meeting to order and Al B opened with prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.  Al B gave a devotional from 1 Thessalonians 5:6.  We, as saved people, are not in the dark but are in light with Jesus.

OLD BUSINESS:
Steve J talked about the Bibles we are trying to purchase to give out.  The Gideon’s will come to an event and give out Bibles but they won’t give them to us to give out.  David M reported he had spoke with Sally about the RRJ Bibles and the ones at LifeWay were $5 each.  Steve J would like to get the King James Version and all agreed.  Discussion ensued on different Bible versions.  Kathy M located some on the internet for $3.97 ea.  We are still investigating Bibles.  Steve J asked if we were still planning to do the coffee can fund raiser and Kathy M asked that everyone that could bring the coffee cans to next months meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:
Steve J mentioned that the Road Riders for Jesus National funds are low and that we need to contribute as we can.  Kathy M mentioned that we have not kept up with our quarterly tithes to the ministry and will catch this up.  Jack E talked about the Mid-America bike week coming next May and opportunities for our chapter to help with the event and sell tickets for the bike raffle.    The Hot Springs Toy Run will be November 27th and will leave Landers in a parade to the VFW donation of $10 or a new unwrapped $10 toy.  December 4th is the Toys for Tots in Little Rock.  Centerfork Church will be hosting a blood drive on December 4th if the chapter would like to participate.  Our chapter meeting in December will be Saturday, December 17th instead of the Friday night meeting.  We will have a Christmas Party potluck at Steve and Retha’s beginning at 4 p.m.  The chapter will provide a turkey and ham and members will bring sides and deserts.  Please call Retha for coordination of sides so we don’t have 14 green bean casseroles.

OLD BUSINESS:

Steve J reported on the Arkansas Fallen Heroes Memorial ride, the Texarkana Orphanage ride, and the ride for Kayla in Prescott. David M mentioned the little boy who wanted a ride during the Fallen Heroes ride and we helped find him a biker to ride with and the little girl who pointed out her Daddy’s picture on the wall of photos of the fallen on the trailer. Retha J shared about the orphanage visit.

NEW BUSINESS:

Steve J mentioned that we possibly could raise money with the helmet for donation at intersections as long as we are outside the city limits. Also placing coffee cans at businesses for donations for our chapter for Children’s hospital or other charitable organization. Kathy M volunteered to check into the plastic donation boxes from her work. Steve J asked about a church for a possible biker Sunday and Rob C said his church said ok but we don’t have a date yet. Steve J said we need to plan the chapter Christmas party and Kathy M made a motion that the R.U.T.H.S ladies make the arrangements. David M brought up the idea of a small pocket size Bible and tracks in zip lock bags for us to carry on our bikes to hand out. Discussion followed on the purchase of the Bibles and Steve J said that the chapter could purchase $100 worth of Bibles and Al B made the motion to do so and Jim H 2nd and the motion carried. Rob C mentioned giving new members one t-shirt with our logo when they join. Retha J made the motion to do so and David M 2nd and the motion carried. Kathy M reminded everyone that the Canyon Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center’s Fall Festival is Nov 5 on Park Ave setup at 1:00 p.m.

Fallen Heroes Run

Saturday, October 15th
is the
ARKANSAS FALLEN HEROES MEMORIAL MOTORCYCLE RUN

Staging is in the parking lot behind the Sonic, 4700 N. Highway 7, Hot Springs Village, AR.  Registration starts at 8:00 AM, Briefing at 11:20 AM with Memorial Run leaving at 11:30 AM.

All motorcycles will be escorting the families of the fallen.  Registration is $20 per person which includes spot in memorial run to Lake Dardanelle State Park, T-shirt, event pin, and chance for $300 High Roll and $100 Low Roll.
